Happy Chinese New Year

HorseYear

Happy Chinese New Year from all of us here at the Irish Jesuit Missions Office. We pray that this new year – the year of the horse – brings its spirit of self-improvement to all. We have many Jesuits in the Chinese province – most significantly in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Jesuit province was originally started by Irish Jesuit missionaries in December, 1926. Since then, many Irish Jesuits have lived and worked in Hong Kong, often teaching in second or third level education. The oldest Irish priest, Fr. Joe Mallin, who turned 100 last year, is a part of this province (click here for more information).

Find below some photos of the Director of the Irish Jesuit Mission Office Fr. John Guiney SJ with some of the members of the Hong Kong Jesuit community on his recent visit there.
