Care for our Common Home

Why care for our environment?

Fostering resilience to extreme climatic conditions is crucial to building stability in fragile contexts. We will continue to focus on climate resilient smallholder agriculture and the production of nutritious crops in marginalised communities.

We champion gender, with our focus on female headed households on many of the farms and trainings we support. We promote sustainable farming and support smallholder farmers and female heads of households in preparedness to reduce their risk to shocks and stresses, including environmental disasters, climate change and violent conflict. Through our resilience approach, we improve nutrition levels for those in severe need.

Our Objective: To care for our common home

Our 2022-2027 anticipated outcomes:

  • Improved support to communities and households to absorb exposure to shock and stresses
  • Improved nutritional rates in marginalised and vulnerable households
  • Increased access to support and trainings for smallholder farmers to grow climate resilient crops and use climate smart farming practices
